Elegant and stately Andalusian farmhouse in Salobreña from the 50’s, including a complete renovation project.
This 1950’s country house in the municipality of Salobreña, is situated on a flat area with access from the well-known “camino de los nuevos riegos” (the new irrigation road). Once the land pertaining to what we now know as Monte de los Almendros belonged to this property, making it the oldest house of the entire mountain.
The plot has about 6500 m2, mostly planted with tropical trees in production, and the perimeter has elements of fencing and enclosure. The access to the property is flat and enjoys a large garden that descends and delimits in a gradual way, with terraces and some sloping areas, unevenness and walls, which is the singularity of the land.
The mansion is the focus of all directions and cardinal points. The building itself is about 330 m2 plus a storage area (including horse stable) of over 200 m2, despite the state of conservation, you can easily observe the manor, majesty and beauty of what was once a farmhouse, where workers were housed, and it gave shelter and food to farmers. The rooms of generous dimensions still enjoy details of the time, some stained glass in good condition, tiled floors, windows and woodwork of the time, fireplaces, and a distribution around the areas of light and interior courtyards.
The garden area has palm trees, shrubs, jasmine and bougainvillea strategically placed next to the corridors and fountains, antique pots and ponds where one can easily imagine and go back in time and see the inhabitants strolling at the end of a long day’s work.
This property was recently purchased by a family who valued and appreciated the history of a place that, strategically positioned, enjoys 360-degree views of the well-known and now prestigious Monte de los Almendros, the Moorish castle of Salobreña, the Mediterranean Sea, the nearby mountains, and the tropical avocado, mango and other fruit trees. But what is most striking about this property are the impressive carob trees placed on the southeast side – on the one hand to provide shade on hot summer days, and on the other hand, coolness and shelter for the house and its inhabitants.
This farmhouse, for sale due to circumstances unrelated to the construction or its orography, features protected elements, has a reform, execution and maintenance plan to implement its facilities, which are all designed to reduce the environmental impact of the existing house.
The renovation project is included in the sale and at the disposal of the new buyer and owner, so that it can materialise and give this special place the magnitude, elegance and essence that it once had and still deserves.
The property is only a few minutes’ walk or drive from the Caleta de Salobreña, and it is very close to the town of Motril.
